Hackney Green Party Walk Sun 1st, Open to All!

Hackney Wicked and our walks there may have ended, but with Hackney Green Party we have organised a great walk from Hackney Wick to Clapton and everybody’s welcome!

The walk will cover not just Green Hackney projects like tree nurseries, urban gardens, sustainability initiatives and community activism/planning but also street art and social history in the Victorian factory town which has become a home to 1,000 plus artistic spaces. We’ll also skirt the Olympic perimeter too and find out why canal boats are so popular to live on these days.

Hackney is greener than you think!
Hackney is greener than you think!

.There’s loads to see and discover, and you’ll be surprised how green and how Green this borough is.

We’ll start at Hackney Wick Overground station at 11.15am on Sunday and finish off around 12.45pm at the Princess of Wales pub by the Middlesex Filter Beds (lovely green nature reserve) in Clapton.

£6 (kids free, reductions for OAPs, unwaged etc). Contact Hackney Tours or even better Charlotte George at Hackney Greens for more information.

MAKE A DAY OF IT? This walk also segues nicely into Save Leyton Marsh’s walk around the Marshes at at 1.30pm from the nearby River Lea ice rink. More details here.
