In Strange Times, Events For Us to Talk & Connect?

Meet, talk, connect, commune...
Meet, talk, connect, commune…

These are tumultuous times. In response we’re stepping up our communal activities. Winter is here but we’re not slowing down. There’s walking, talking and connecting to be done…

The civic sphere is where we’re going to find each other and make sense of this year. Whatever happens, surely conversations are where any solutions will start? This is how we build resilient cities and strong communities? So come and lend your voice?

Last week we spoke at a ‘Building Better Cities’ event at CLR James Library in Dalston where TED Talks were shown. On Sunday, we’re throwing something together last minute, a community event to talk about how we build more resilient communities in the wake of this year’s unprecedented political seachanges. It’ll happen at 4-6pm at the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden and be free. Please see our Twitter feed for more info.

Tomorrow (Sat) we’ve one of the Hackney Council free walks – Kings Cross 11am from the British Library entrance. See here for more info on these walks.

Next Wed, if you’re into running and urbanism we have this event at UCL, which will include a free warm up run. Contact us of details of the warm up.

We got a rave review of our first Dalston Food & Culture Tour from a wonderful person who found us through Funzing and said it was “the best experience I’ve had in London in years”! See lots of fun experiences there. Book here to come on a Dalston exploration that includes markets, inspiring social enterprises and street art.

Finally we’re doing something similar down at Chatsworth Road for the brilliant East End Independents’ Day, with the East End Trades Guild. As business rates rise and some small businesses struggle to survive, we’re celebrating all the good stuff about independent East London businesses. There’ll be food, booze and history, so come along! Book here on Eventbrite or all our events are both Eventbrite and Funzing.
